The deadline to nominate your favorite credit union for our 2019 Collaboration and Innovation Award has ended.  Nominees will be contacted soon to schedule their interview with the judges.  Winners will be announced on April 17th, 2019.

NACUSO understands the importance that collaboration and innovation play in building a strong and vibrant credit union industry. We want to identify examples of the successful use of collaboration and innovation by credit unions to serve their membership’s financial and other needs through the use of CUSOs.


Has your credit union or another credit union that you are aware of leveraged the collaborative model offered through CUSOs for the benefit of your members?  Has the credit union developed a unique CUSO-based business structure or approach?   We want to recognize and celebrate with our industry, credit unions who are using CUSOs to meet the needs of their credit union members. The credit union that best meets the criteria outlined below will be presented with the prestigious 2019 Credit Union Collaboration & Innovation Award at the NACUSO Network Conference.


Our nomination process is super simple.  Nominate the CU by letting us know the CU name and contact information (only one nominated is needed per CU).  We will contact the CU after February 15th to schedule a 30 minute interview with our Judges.  See below for all details and the award criteria.

General Information and How to Nominate the Credit Union

  • Only one nomination per credit union is needed.  The award is given based on the criteria (not number of nominations received)

  • Self-nominations are acceptable

  • Nominations must be submitted by 2/15/19

  • Our award judging process is done by utilizing a phone interview between the credit union and our judges. Simply click on the link and enter the credit union to be nominated and their contact info.

  • In late February we will schedule the interview with the credit union and our judges.

  • The judging panel will include leaders from the credit union & CUSO industry

  • Interviews are approximately 30 minutes and will take place in March.  A list of the questions asked will be sent in advance to the credit union

  • Prior winners of this NACUSO Award for the last 3 years are ineligible (2016-2018)

Award Focus & Criteria
This award is aimed at showcasing those credit unions who exhibit leadership in utilizing the CUSO collaborative model to deliver value to the credit union and its members and is judged on the following questions/criteria: 

  • Tell us about your Credit Union and the CUSOs that your Credit Union owns and/or partners with. 

  • Share the value created for the Credit Union and/or its members through the use of CUSOs           

  • Give examples of how the Credit Union has shown innovation in the design, implementation and execution of their CUSO business model.

  • Describe the Credit Union’s organization-wide commitment to achieving the networked business model value generated through CUSOs.

  • Provide examples of how a competitive advantage has been created within markets, products or services through the use of CUSOs.  

  • What results, outcomes and performance have been achieved by the Credit Union, through the use of CUSOs?  

  • What are the benchmarks/metrics that have been identified to determine the success delivered by CUSOs for the Credit Union and its members?      

  • What results have been achieved in each benchmark/metrics area?

Award Presentation
Formal announcement and the Awards presentation will take place at NACUSO’s Network Conference held at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego, California on Tuesday, April 16, 2019.
